Goodreads Summary:
A net of shadows begins to tighten around the Shadowhunters of the London Institute. Mortmain plans to use his Infernal Devices, an army of pitiless automatons, to destroy the Shadowhunters. He needs only one last item to complete his plan: he needs Tessa Gray.
Charlotte Branwell, head of the London Institute, is desperate to find Mortmain before he strikes. But when Mortmain abducts Tessa, the boys who lay equal claim to her heart, Jem and Will, will do anything to save her. For though Tessa and Jem are now engaged, Will is as much in love with her as ever.
As those who love Tessa rally to rescue her from Mortmain’s clutches, Tessa realizes that the only person who can save her is herself. But can a single girl, even one who can command the power of angels, face down an entire army?
Danger and betrayal, secrets and enchantment, and the tangled threads of love and loss intertwine as the Shadowhunters are pushed to the very brink of destruction in the breathtaking conclusion to the Infernal Devices trilogy.
My thoughts:
… sighs …
What a tragic yet beautiful way to end a story… I couldn’t have asked for a better ending! But it was just so sad… 😦
Apart from the fact that the author keeps reminding us that Will’s eyes are blue (We get it already! Move on!) I really enjoyed this book! There were some undeniable flaws to this book (Nobody is perfect, right?!) but I loved how the story was wrapped up in the third and final book, Clockwork Princess.
I’m not a big fan of love triangles (or any other shape for that matter) but the love triangle in this trilogy was done so well! I was seriously impressed!
And that epilogue…?! Aaaahhhhh! Total tear-fest!
No spoilers though 🙂 If you want to see what happens in the most tragic epilogue in the history of YA Urban Fantasy then you have to pick up the Infernal Devices!
Haha I don’t like love triangles either but you are so right about this book! And the ending…just perfect 😉

I’m glad despite not liking love triangles you enjoyed that in the book. Unfortunately, I was not able to see any chemistry between Jem and Tessa though I loved Jem as a character. Anyway, loved your review!
