Princess Winter is admired by the Lunar people for her grace and kindness, and despite the scars that mark her face, her beauty is said to be even more breathtaking than that of her stepmother, Queen Levana.
Winter despises her stepmother, and knows Levana won’t approve of her feelings for her childhood friend–the handsome palace guard, Jacin. But Winter isn’t as weak as Levana believes her to be and she’s been undermining her stepmother’s wishes for years. Together with the cyborg mechanic, Cinder, and her allies, Winter might even have the power to launch a revolution and win a war that’s been raging for far too long.
It took me about a month to finish this book, not because it’s incredibly long (which it is) but because I didn’t want this series to end!
Winter by Marissa Meyer is the last book in the Lunar Chronicles, and what a way to wrap up the series! This final book was so intense and emotional. There was so much going on, but I didn’t feel overwhelmed by all the different story lines as they came together, then broke apart again… It was brilliant!
I don’t even know how to review this book if I’m honest. The story was so engaging and the characters… oh the characters! I feel like I’ve made 8 new friends, (Seriously, the writing is that good!) and I loved their relationship with one another.
(No, I’m not crying… YOU’RE crying!)
I’m not even sure what to read next, because I know nothing I read will be as exciting as this series. The Lunar Chronicles are DEFINITELY a joined first (along with Harry Potter) in my all time “favourite series list”.
Authors everywhere, THAT’S how you end a book series!
(Sorry, not sorry for the fangirling review)
