There’s a new writer in town!

Watch out, world! I’m writing a book!

I’ve been thinking about writing for a while and although now (September – December) is the busiest time of the year for me, you don’t get to choose when inspiration hits you, right?

So, I’ve decided to write a children’s book (9-12 age group). There’s going to be a bit of this and a bit of that, but it should mainly be an adventure story with some magic in the mix. Those were my favourite kind of stories as a kid 😀 But that’s all I’m saying at the moment… My lips are sealed!

I know there are quite a few bloggers who go into writing, so my question for you is… What were your favourite books at that age (9-12)? And what was so special about them?

Plus, do you have any tips for a newbie writer?

That’s awesome! Please remember us little people. It’s hard to remember what my favorites were because I read so much during that time. I can recall my favorite being the Shadow Children series by Margret Petterson Haddix when I was 12 and then Goosebumps when I was about 9 and 10.

I’m proud of you! More people need to experience your amazing art of writing. My favorite books were anything by Judy Bloom or R.L. Stine. I loved teen themed books with a twist and mystery.

Awesome Fernanda!! Good luck!! My favorites as a child were the Harry Potter series (no surprise there), A Series of Unfortunate Events series, and Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine. I think incorporating magic is a great basis for the book because what child doesn’t love magic and fantasy? 🙂
