Colouring Books: Yay or Nay?

Have you ever tried listening to an audiobook while using one of those adult colouring books?

BEST. WAY. TO. CHILL. EVER!

I started colouring in a few months ago… Actually now that I think about it, it was more like last year (Where has 2016 gone?!). Anyway, I used to colour at uni whenever I needed to de-stress. Being a student is more stressful than it looks!

I got a Harry Potter colouring book for Christmas from my parents last year and just fell in love with it! I usually listen to audiobooks or watch something on Netflix (hello Gilmore Girls) while I’m colouring in.

For some reason I can’t just sit still and watch TV (or listen to an audiobook), I need toΒ keep my hands busy so I don’t get bored, and colouring books are perfect for that!

I even have a wishlist just for colouring books πŸ˜€ Aren’t these amazing?

(Click on photos to open them on Amazon).

Have you ever used an adult colouring book before? What’s your opinion on them?

Yay or nay?

I colour faaaar more than I should, but I find it so relaxing! I would recommend it to everyone, because there is a book for any topic. I’m currently working on my Royal Family book, but I’ve also got the Harry Potter from last year, Outlander, Jane Austen, The Enchanted Forest, and more… haha! I might have a problem! I also wrote a post on them: https://anhistorianabouttown.wordpress.com/2016/01/13/im-a-big-kid-er-an-adult-kid-colouring-books/. Great post!!

I’ve never listened to an audio book while coloring, however I do have two Grown Up Coloring Books and it’s a good way to de-stress. I’ve found myself coloring for hours and nothen knowing I was sitting there that long.

I loveeee coloring books!! I know so many people who think they’re great for dealing with stress. But I’m also a teacher so most of my friends also play with glitter and stickers! πŸ˜‚

I only started colouring too this year and it’s seriously addicting! I have a Harry Potter one, a flowery one and a cat one. I prefer the flowery one because I can use whichever colours I want whereas I feel like I need to use the correct colours for the Harry Potter one. So I don’t actually use the HP one as often unless I’m entirely certain which colours I should use!

I love to colour! I even knick the kids colouring books and use them. I got a fantastic one I believe is called Colour with Mum and it has a page for mum and the opposite page is simplified version for the kid. Its a great one for spending time with my daughter but it only comes out when she finds me colouring on my own 😁😁
