Feeling very Olympic-ish

As you can see I’m in a very Olympic-ish mood today! 😀

The Olympic Games will always have a special place in my heart as most of you know (If you’re new you can see why right here in my previous Olympic post).

And to make this year’s games extra special they’re being held in Brazil, which is where I was born! I haven’t actually been to Brazil in almost 12 years, but let’s not focus on that.. Haha!

I’m trying really hard not to compare Rio’s ceremony to the one I took part in in London. They had very different styles, so it wouldn’t be fair to compare them really. Rio’s opening ceremony was beautiful! Sort of understated but full of energy! Like most things in Brazil tend to be…

My favourite part was when the seeds that the athletes had planted burst into the shape of the Olympic rings. It was so unexpected and beautiful!

Did anyone else get a bit emotional when the team of refugees walked into the stadium and were welcomed by a standing ovation? Such a special moment.

And don’t even get me started on that cauldron! Who was the genius that came up with that?!

Anyway, did any of my lovely readers watch the opening ceremony?

What did you think?

How is your country doing so far in the games?

I didn’t see most of the opening ceremony first because it was too late but also because the channel that was airing it kept cutting in the most random times and stopped airing it even before it ended. But everything you talked about looks so good. Now I want to go see the standing ovation.
Also, Portugal just one their first medal. It was a bronze medal in judo but it’s great because Telma Monteiro was only missing an Olympic medal and she has been deserving that medal for years

I actually really loved the Opening Ceremony! Maybe, because it’s my own country, I have to admit I wasn’t expecting such a big and beautiful party. I think it perfectly fits and represents Brazil’s cultural diversity!
So far, Brazil has won only one gold medal, on judo. We have a lot of huge countries to compete against, but I think we’re doing a good job.
By the way, I hope you can visit us soon!
