Dear readers, I had the most unexpected of days yesterday!
I went for a walk in the park with my parents (No, that’s not the unexpected part… Haha! Hold your horses).
It was a bright sunny day in Northern Ireland (which, if you live here you’ll know, is pretty rare!) so after lunch we decided to stretch our legs a bit and go for a walk. We drove to this gorgeous park surrounding an old manor house about 15 minutes away from where we live.
A few things happened on our walk:
- We met the cutest little dog who seemed to be lost but cheerful 🙂
- We got lost trying to get from the car park to the manor.
- We stopped to get a drink at the cafe by the manor (we eventually found it!)
- Mum and dad picked up a flower (with its roots still attached) and decided to take it home so we could plant it in our garden.
- Then… the most wonderful thing happened!
On our way back to the car, we found a second-hand BOOKSHOP! In the park! Attached to that beautiful old manor! I wish I had taken a photo of the bookshop, but I was so excited that I completely forgot about that 😀
Half an hour later, I left the bookshop with EIGHT new books! Not 1 or 2, but 8! 😀
I don’t think I’ve ever bought that many books in one go 😀 This is a first for me. But who could resist buying 8 books for the price of 1?
That’s right! EIGHT books for the price of ONE!
Most of them are from the Pretty Little Liars series, which is a series I’ve always been curious about but have never read any of them. They didn’t have the first book in the series, but “Ali’s Pretty Little Lies” is book number 0.5 according to Goodreads, so I’m thinking of starting with that one.
Have any of you ever read the Pretty Little Liars series? Do you think it’d be alright to start with book 0.5 instead of book 1?
And let’s not forget about my first ever Philippa Gregory book! 😀 They had quite a few of her books in the bookshop as well, but I didn’t want to get 2 new series in one go, so I only picked up one of those.
Plus, my first Shakespeare story! I wrote a post about my “booket list” , which I highly recommend doing it yourself as a tag 🙂 (Yes, I’m tagging YOU right now for the “booket list” tag!)
Anyway, I chose “Much Ado About Nothing” because Quirky Victorian @ (Over)Analysing Literature says it’s a good one to start my Shakespeare journey on, and I trust my fellow bloggers completely 🙂
So yeah, now I need to find a home for all those new books in my bookshelf 😀
Hope you’re enjoying the sun as much as I am 😀
For those of you still doing your exams, I’m sending you good vibes from this little sunny corner of the world.
Till next time 😀
