Summer is Here!

Dear readers, I had the most unexpected of days yesterday!

I went for a walk in the park with my parents (No, that’s not the unexpected part… Haha! Hold your horses).

It was a bright sunny day in Northern Ireland (which, if you live here you’ll know, is pretty rare!) so after lunch we decided to stretch our legs a bit and go for a walk. We drove to this gorgeous park surrounding an old manor house about 15 minutes away from where we live.

I apologize for my phone’s camera and its lack of quality 😦

A few things happened on our walk:

  • We met the cutest little dog who seemed to be lost but cheerful πŸ™‚
  • We got lost trying to get from the car park to the manor.
  • We stopped to get a drink at the cafe by the manor (we eventually found it!)
  • Mum and dad picked up a flower (with its roots still attached) and decided to take it home so we could plant it in our garden.
  • Then… the most wonderful thing happened!

On our way back to the car, we found a second-hand BOOKSHOP! In the park! Attached to that beautiful old manor! I wish I had taken a photo of the bookshop, but I was so excited that I completely forgot about that πŸ˜€

Half an hour later, I left the bookshop with EIGHT new books! Not 1 or 2, but 8! πŸ˜€

I don’t think I’ve ever bought that many books in one go πŸ˜€ This is a first for me. But who could resist buying 8 books for the price of 1?

That’s right! EIGHT books for the price of ONE!

Most of them are from the Pretty Little Liars series, which is a series I’ve always been curious about but have never read any of them. They didn’t have the first book in the series, but “Ali’s Pretty Little Lies” is book number 0.5 according to Goodreads, so I’m thinking of starting with that one.

Have any of you ever read the Pretty Little Liars series? Do you think it’d be alright to start with book 0.5 instead of book 1?

And let’s not forget about my first ever Philippa Gregory book! πŸ˜€ They had quite a few of her books in the bookshop as well, but I didn’t want to get 2 new series in one go, so I only picked up one of those.

Plus, my first Shakespeare story! I wrote a post about my “booket list”Β , which I highly recommend doing it yourself as a tag πŸ™‚ (Yes, I’m tagging YOU right now for the “booket list” tag!)

Anyway, I chose “Much Ado About Nothing” because Quirky Victorian @ (Over)Analysing Literature says it’s a good one to start my Shakespeare journey on, and I trust my fellow bloggers completely πŸ™‚

So yeah, now I need to find a home for all those new books in my bookshelf πŸ˜€

Hope you’re enjoying the sun as much as I am πŸ˜€

For those of you still doing your exams, I’m sending you good vibes from this little sunny corner of the world.

Till next time πŸ˜€

Hey! that sounds like a fun little adventure you had! I hope you enjyed, but of course you did! 8 books? I have done that before, more than eight. It was back when i read Marykate and ashley books and Sweet valley. And this is a PLL fan speaking so yeah, go on with the 0.5 book. I haven’t read the books, I watch the series, I think you should too!
    Enjoy the summer reads.

Ooh I love Philippa Gregory, though I haven’t read the exact book you bought. Hope you like all the books! I’d be super excited too if I could buy 8 for the price of one – though I probably would have ended up with like 16…. πŸ˜‰
