Harry Potter & the confused fan

Sooooo, you’ve probably heard by now about the 8th Harry Potter book that’s coming out in July… If not, you can read more about it here.

I’m so incredibly excited about this I’m finding it very hard to keep my cool until then! I mean, our old friends are coming back to life! This is epic! It will be such a magical reunion… I can’t wait!

I have been to the Harry Potter studios in London a couple of times, and I ALMOST got to work as an extra in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts film (Apparently there were “wardrobe” issues, ie. they didn’t order enough costumes for everyone…), but my life-long dream is to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Sadly it’s in Florida, you know, AMERICA.

As soon as I graduate and find a job (Wish me luck!) I’ll start saving every spare change I can find so I can finally go to WWHP! It shouldn’t take me more than 10 years or so to save enough money, right?

Speaking of which… I have a burning question that I promised myself if I ever meet JK Rowling I’d ask her… Why isn’t there a Wizarding World of Harry Potter in the UK? Seeing as how Harry is English, JK Rowling is Scottish, and Hogwarts is somewhere in the island, who had the “bright” idea of building WWHP in America?! Who?!

I say we start a petition: “Bring Harry home!”

Who’s with me?

I studied abroad in London for a semester and absolutely loved it! I agree though, I’m confused on why the WWHP is in the US and not the UK. I too am very excited for the new book, I was able to see a few of the areas they used for filming the movies in Scotland, very cool! You’d enjoy them if you haven’t seen them from the sounds of it. 🙂
