Since today’s entry is our 5th one I thought it would be a good day to do a list of my top 5 favourite books of all time. Hoooowwwever, I couldn’t pick just 5 books (There are too many great books out in the world, people!) but that’s a nice problem to have, so I’m not complaining! That’s why I decided to split my favourite books into different categories (Aren’t I a smart cookie?).
So, without further ado… I present to you my top 5 series (Trilogies count too!) of all time!
- The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare
A great series if you’re into mythological creatures roaming around undetected among us, mere mortals. LOVED the first 4 books, after that it kind of dragged a bit, but overall, a great read!
- Circle Trilogy by Ted Dekker
I read this series a good many years ago. As far as I know it was originally supposed to be a trilogy, but it was such a hit that they published a 4th book that tries to link the 3rd back to the 1st book (I think that’s why they call it the “Circle” trilogy). It’s an amazing story that goes back and forth between two alternate universes. As soon as the main character falls asleep in one world he wakes up on the other one. It’s a must-read for anyone who enjoys fantasy/sci-fi books!
- The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
OK, who haven’t read The Hunger Games yet? EVERYONE has at least seen the films, right? So yeah, I don’t think I have to justify adding it to my top 5! Everyone knows it’s a brilliant series! (Except for the ending, which was just wrong! Yes, I think she ended up with the wrong guy!)
- Divergent by Veronica Roth
You know how they say “The book is always better”? It really is! I watched the film and I have to say, whoever was in charge of casting dropped the ball on a few of the characters there. But anyway, the Divergent BOOKS are my second favourite series of all time! Amazing storyline, filled with plot twists and engaging characters! 5 stars!
- Harry Potter by JK Rowling
And finally, that classic most of us have on our bookshelves… Harry Potter! An absolutely amazing series that made me into what I am today, a book lover! I didn’t really enjoy reading at all before I met Harry, Ron and Hermione, but they pulled me in. I felt Hogwarts calling out to me on every page. An inviting magical world that has the power to make children (of all ages) sit down and read for hours on end and actually ENJOY it! JK Rowling deserves an A***** for this masterpiece!
That’s all for today, peeps! But watch this space for my next “Top 5” post!
