So last night was pretty exciting. I got to attend an early screening of High-Rise (out on 18th March here in the UK & Ireland) with a Q&A session with the director Ben Wheatley!
As some of you know, I have been working as a supporting artist (aka SA) in films and TV for a good few years now. And let me tell you, High-Rise was the best summer job I have ever had! It’s not really the kind of film I would normally choose to watch (ie. It’s neither a RomCom or Disney) buuuuuttt the cast and crew were incredibly friendly (which isn’t always the case in some productions), and I’ve made a few friends for life with some of the other SAs. And yes, Tom Hiddleston really is amazing! (And his bodyguard always had a pack of Oreos to share! Score!)
So anyway, why am I telling you this? I have just realised there are quite a few book adaptations coming out this year. High-Rise being one of them! You can check out some of those adaptations here: http://bzfd.it/1TygWLO
What do you think about book adaptations? Do you like to read the book before the film comes out? Or do you do it the other way around?
